Advanced Go Systems Engineering
Runtime internals, diagnosis, bounded concurrency, and production operations.
A rigorous advanced course on production Go concurrency patterns, generics, scheduler and garbage-collector behavior, the memory model, profiling, benchmarking, service operations, and performance diagnosis. The curriculum is grounded in the curated technical references and preserves their technical depth, code, diagrams, decision rules, and failure analysis. Every lesson adds objectives, an applied lab, review questions, and concrete completion evidence. The course closes with a substantial capstone: Build and operate a bounded regression dispatcher, high-throughput log processor, or results service with profiles, benchmarks, leak tests, graceful shutdown, and documented resource limits.
What you will learn
Leave with a working mental model.
- 01 Design bounded pipelines, worker pools, fan-out/fan-in flows, and clean shutdown protocols
- 02 Reason from scheduler, garbage collector, escape analysis, and memory-model behavior
- 03 Diagnose CPU, allocation, blocking, contention, and latency problems with Go tooling
- 04 Operate services with explicit resource limits, observability, graceful shutdown, and regression tests
Before you begin
Prerequisites
- Comfort with goroutines, channels, interfaces, and errors
- Experience testing Go programs with the race detector
- Working knowledge of contexts and synchronization
